An Analysis of Errors in Chinese Words with Same Morpheme by Thai Undergraduate Students : The case study of Rajamangala University of Technology Rattanakosin

Abstract

This research aims to study type of errors in the use of Chinese same morpheme words of Thai students and analyze the causes of errors in the use of Chinese same morpheme words and then the results were used as a way to solve the problem of teaching the Chinese appear. This study is a sample Chinese students in grade 3 and 4Rajamangala University of Technology Rattanakosin of 61 people selected by model. For this study, the researchers used data collected in the test. Divided into three sections: personal information. The cognitive tests used in the joint. And the difficulty of the participating students. The results of this study show that there are three types of errors in the use of Chinese same morpheme words by Thai students were as follows “semantic errors” “the collocation errors” and “misuse of parts of speech”, the most common errors are: semantic errors, meaningful errors, errors, and errors. The fourth part is the inconsistency of expression in the context for 39.44%, followed by errors in the context. Was a minor error in the use of collation errors in respect of each of the offensive for 24.59% and an error of semantics is wrong in synonyms or similar meaning for 21.31% and error is minimal, including errors in misuse of parts of speech for 1.64%. The main causes of misuse of words are mistake, there are four reasons: (1) the use of mother tongue and target language; simple one-to-one translation; (2) students with learning strategies words appear unfamiliar; (3) explain the apparent insufficient, and (4) the texts and the area. Teaching The study analyzed the error in the use of the Chinese language and joined the cause of the error occurred. It will have to guide the development and revision of teaching Chinese same morpheme words for the future of Thailand.
