A study of the "Characteristics" of Lanna Women According to Concept of Character Education

The objectives of this research were: 1) to study and collect data on characteristics of qualifications, morality, and traits of Lanna women and 2) to study and analyze the socialization process that enhanced Lanna women's characteristics and traits according to concept of character education. Thus, this research was a study of the biography and roles, as well as the characteristics and traits of the case study, Chao Dara Rasmi, and using a concept of character education as a framework of analysis. The research used a qualitative method and performed with the descriptive research approach. In addition, the documentary research method was used to investigate and categorize sources, whether in the primary and secondary sources relating to Chao Dara Rasmi. The data were collected from documents, academic writings, and research, afterward the data were analyzed by using content analysis.

The research findings were as follows.

1) Chao Dara Rasmi was a Lanna woman whose characteristics were consistent with the concept of character education, the concept of six pillars of character, the trait theories, and the concept of characterized.

2) Chao Dara Rasmi was a role model of Lanna woman who exemplified the strength of leadership, trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship, as well as moral and ethical behavior, which would be useful in enhancing the characteristics of learners as the good citizenship.
